Dear family and friends of OLSH College,
“Lent is the time to make new efforts to be what we say we want to be.”
These words from Benedictine nun and theologian Joan Chittister speak powerfully to the essence of our human journey. Effort and renewal are familiar to us—we understand what it means to strive for growth, to seek goodness, and to live with integrity.
Lent invites us to turn outward, to shift our focus from our own needs and desires to how we might, in the spirit of OLSH, touch the hearts of others. It is a season that calls us to deepen our relationships—not only with those around us but also with the world in all its beauty, creation, and gift.
So, for these next five weeks perhaps we can find time to “pause a while and know our God...” (Psalm 46)
