School Librarian - Fixed-term contract, commencing January 2026

OLSH College Bentleigh is an independent Catholic secondary school for girls with a commitment to the mission of Catholic education. Administered by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, the College is built on a tradition of 87 years of inspiring excellence at the Heart of girls' education.

Applications are invited for the following part time position of School Librarian, commencing January 27 2026. This is a 12 months fixed-term leave replacement. 

Part time | Monday to Friday | Work during the school-term only
Are you passionate about literature, digital resources, and creating vibrant learning spaces for young women? We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic School Librarian to join our Library Services team. This role is ideal for someone with library qualifications who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys supporting students and staff in their learning journey. Teacher training is not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day library operations including circulation, cataloguing, and resource maintenance.
  • Support students and staff in accessing and using physical and digital resources.
  • Oversee digital resource platforms including eBooks, databases, and online learning tools.
  • Promote reading and research through engaging displays, programs, and events.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum needs and resource development.
  • Maintain a welcoming and inclusive library environment.

About You:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Library and Information Services.
  • Have experience in library operations, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Are confident with digital platforms and library management systems.
  • Enjoy working with young people and fostering a love of reading and learning

The successful applicant will have the right to work in Australia and hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check.
