Prayer life

Prayer is at the heart of our life as a College community. All College assemblies, ceremonies and meetings begin with prayer.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, time in Learning Mentor Groups begins with prayer which is both student and teacher led. Students and staff are invited to offer any special intentions for the day, including people and places in our world they would like to pray for. Wednesday Morning Prayer is held weekly from 8:25am – 8:35am in the Regnet Christus Chapel. All Years 7 to 12 Religious Education classes and the student Faith and Mission Captains take turns to prepare and lead prayer for the school community.

We begin every College assembly and ceremony and special occasions, such as the anniversaries of Father Jules Chevalier msc (October 21), Mother Marie Louise Hartzer (August 27) and St Mary of the Cross MacKillop (August 8), with prayer.

Our College prayer

Our College prayer is the Memorare to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. We are inspired by the example of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and reflect that in our College prayer.

Memorare means ‘remember’ in Latin and before we pray the Memorare together, we ask the students and staff to provide any special intentions for their prayer, including people and places they would like to have remembered in prayer.

Memorare to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart

Remember, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
the great things the Lord has done for you.
He chose you for his Mother.
He wanted you close to his cross.
He gives you a share in his glory.
He listens to your prayer.
Offer him our prayers of praise and thanksgiving;
present our petitions to him.
Let us live like you in the love of your Son,
that his Kingdom may come.
Lead all people to the source of living water
that flows from His Heart,
spreading over the world
hope and salvation, justice and peace.
See our trust in you; answer our prayer.
Show yourself always our Mother. Amen.
