Over the last fortnight, some exciting learning moments have taken place within the Issoudun year. With the Hartzer group away, the Nous Sommes and the Je Suis groups have started to find their way with their alternative learning programs. These experiential learning programs allow for students to engage with different types of learning processes and demand that students think differently about school. The next two weeks of the program will allow students to further develop their skills and shift them further out of their comfort zone.
Our Year 10 students have started their own journey over these past two weeks, with subject selection conversations beginning with Ms Girolami – Careers and Pathways Coordinator. Over the next six weeks, students will meet to go through their learning skills as they begin to create their VCE program. More information will be provided to parents, including Subject Selection Webinars for various year levels.
With exams beginning on 7 June, it is important that our senior students create a meaningful study plan. Being able to prepare for these exams well in advance allows students to go into those exams feeling more confident. If students need support with creating a study plan, speak with your Learning Mentor or subject teacher.

Our Issoudun Sport Science coaching students are studying how people learn new skills, particularly when it comes to learning a physical skill. To put this into practice, they participated in a circus skills workshop presented by Little Devils Circus. While learning new skills they discovered the importance of practice to build skill and muscle memory.

Our Year 10 PE students have completed a series of self-defence workshops for their safety unit in Health. They learnt about the importance of situational awareness, to trust your gut feelings and to always create space.

Our Issoudun Sport Science coaching students hosted the local primary school for a gymnastics workshop recently. They planned the sessions for maximum participation and were able to adapt each activity to the appropriate skill levels. It was a great opportunity to put their skills into practice.
