On Monday morning, the school community came together for our Holy Week Mass where we took time to remember the last week of Jesus’ life. We were delighted that the OLSH Sisters joined us as well as parents and friends of the College.
Fr Martin Tanti was our celebrant for the mass and as always, he provided much ‘food for thought’ as he led us in our Eucharistic celebration. Ms White and a talented group of Year 7 students led us in a beautiful rendition of the Stations of the Cross which were intertwined with the reading of the Gospel.
Symbolic of these weeks of Lent and all we have contributed “For All Future Generations,” our Heads of House brought forward our Project Compassion boxes as part of the offertory procession, reminding us of our call to be people who always work for justice and peace in our world.

Our very special celebration for Jules Chevalier’s 200th birthday was a day of joy, music and gratitude. The morning started with commemorative badges for all students and staff as they arrived, balloons and ribbons and French party music soaring across the grounds. We had a wonderful assembly and cake cutting and were blessed to hear wisdom shared by Sister Elaine who reminded us to replicate the values of Jules Chevalier – have dreams and pursue them with determination and those who share them to change the world. Our youngest and oldest students cut the cake along with our Principal Anne O'Loughlin and Sister Elaine.
The day continued with opportunities for a selfie with Jules, near his statue and with our life-size cut out of him who made it to morning tea and a few classes! There were French-inspired snacks available at the canteen and a lunchtime concert under the Jacaranda tree. Happy Birthday Jules…we were so grateful to be a part of this special anniversary.

Parents and caregivers were recently sent an email from the Principal asking that you complete the Enhancing Catholic School Identity Parent Survey. Could you please complete the parent survey to help us better understand how our Catholic identity is expressed here at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College? Please email your certificate of completion of the survey to dlanz@olsh.vic.edu.au to go into the draw for a $20 canteen voucher.
