Preparing for assessments
The past few weeks have seen the Learning programs at OLSH begin to drive forward and take shape. Our excursions and expeditions continue to provide learning outside the classroom and create opportunities to tap into real-world learning. All the experiences are carefully crafted by our teaching staff to enhance the curriculum and engage students in different ways.
Students will notice that the assessment schedule is generally beginning to take shape by this stage of the term. To feel prepared for assessment, it is important to have a well-defined study plan as they build up towards the assessment. In the coming weeks, we have our first Parent Teacher Evenings where the opportunity to speak with teachers about the progress of students will enhance the learning experience.

Our Issoudun debating team were victorious against McKinnon Secondary College this week. The team of Violet, Amber and Anika debated the topic 'That schools should ban contacts side' arguing for the negative side. Well done team!
Our language students participated in OzClo this week, the Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad where they had to work together to develop solve language analysis problems. The winners of this first round have the opportunity to compete at the national level.

OLSH Artists on show
We were thrilled to learn that four of our OLSH Art students will have their artwork displayed at the MACS Creative Arts Exhibition as part of Catholic Education Week.
Congratulations to Jahni, Penny, Sidney and Tahlia on this achievement. The pieces will be on display at the Catholic Leadership Centre all of next week.
