Issoudun students, staff and OLSH Sisters made their way to OLSH Elmore recently to join the primary school community in their Mission Carnival raising money for OLSH Overseas Aid. Prayer together, celebrating together - two OLSH schools with a beautiful shared spirit!
Here are some reflections from the students:
"Our day began with prayer which our connection as a community, through singing, praying, and sharing of our own individual talents. Today's experience was one of kind and it helped us to connect with a younger generation. It was enjoyable to help the students of OLSH Elmore and see the happiness on their faces. We loved strengthening the love of the OLSH Sisters and missions and we hope to see all the lovely people we met soon!" - Ava
"Today's Mission Carnival at OLSH Elmore, joining with the wider OLSH community was one of a kind. We began with a heartfelt prayer, singing " Our Lady of the Sacred Heart” together and then teaching it to the younger students which created moments of unity and joy. Hearing the children express their knowledge about OLSH and us altogether being "heart people" was a privilege. The day came alive with fun carnival games that showcased their creativity and skill like hairdressing booths, obstacle course etc. We joined in together with face painting and game challenges while enjoying delicious delights. As a special farewell we left behind our school tour video giving them a glimpse into how are OLSH College Bentleigh community thrives here in Melbourne. This day was truly special leaving all of us with smiles and hearts filled with joyous memories." - Dollwia and Amelia
Our visit was included in Sandpiper, the online publication from the Sandhurst Diocese.
