Graduation Mass for the Class of 2024

During our beautiful Year 12 Graduation Mass last Friday evening, there were a number of very special moments. The first was the Procession of the Class of 2024 into St. Paul's Parish Church in Bentleigh.

Once inside a full Church, we sang "Lord, the Light of Your Love is Shining" before the readings and Fr. Martin's homily. At the end of the homily, Chanelle Abdulbaki shared her response to the question 'What have been my heart lessons here at OLSH?'. Read Chanelle's reflection here.

The prayers of intercession were offered by students and staff alike.

A group of Year 12 singers and instrumentalists did a wonderful job leading the music in song and on both piano and violin.

Along with the gifts of bread and wine, the Year 12 mural, the Year 12 jumper and a Ukranian doll representing the cultures of the Class of 2024, were brought forward in the offertory procession.

After communion, Jacin Foo shared her response to the same question, 'What have been my heart lessons here at OLSH?'. Read Jacin's reflection here.

At the conclusion of the Graduation Mass, we moved into the Graduation Ceremony. Ms. O'Loughlin presented each students with her Graduation Certificate and Sr. Liz presented each graduand with a blessed statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

It was a beautiful, uplifting, joy-filled celebration of our Year 12s and their achievements as they have walked the journey as young OLSH women. From our final blessing:

May you always stand tall as a tree,
Be strong as Uluru
As gentle and still as a morning mist.
