Welcome back to Term 2 which is a shorter Term compared to the other three. Our Year 10 and 11 students have a few short weeks before their exams, which means that preparation and study should be a priority. Exam schedules will be sent through to students in the coming week so that everyone can plan well. Last week, I met with the Year 12 students to go through the remaining days before the English exam. We spoke about the goals we set at the beginning of the year, and how committing to changes in learning behaviour can see the goal achieved.
Term 2 is an excellent time for all of our students to re-focus on our learning goals and work hard to set ourselves up for success. Our Year 7 to Issoudun students have a wonderful opportunity to do things well this term. All that was complete in Term 1 allows students the platform to continue to achieve their goals.
Our year 7s have started their crystal growing experiment, participating in the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s annual competition. Using Alum and icy pole sticks, the students grow the crystals for six to eight weeks then measure them and submit their entries for state and national judging. We’ll bring you an update at the end of term.

It's always a thrill when new artwork is hung in our gallery space. This time it is the work of our Issoudun photography students who created self-portraits that convey ideas about their identity. Influenced by the self-portraits of Australian female photographers, Atong Atem and Polixeni Papapetrou, the students planned and completed the photo shoot, printed contact sheets and edited their work in Photoshop to enhance their ideas.
