What an amazing year of learning we have had at OLSH College this year! As Heart people, we pursue excellence. Over the past fortnight, we had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success of our community at the Regnet Christus Awards Ceremony. The ceremony highlighted the success of so many students with their academic pursuits over the 2023 academic year. After the ceremony, many students came and spoke with me about their year and how they would set learning goals for next year. Many students were celebrated with an official award, but that doesn’t tell the story of our whole community. All learners across all year levels should be celebrated for working consistently throughout the year. As you begin to reflect on the year that you had, spend time thinking about your successful moments, as well as how you continue to improve in 2024.
Our Year 12s have received their ATARs and exam results and we are very proud of them all for their excellence and commitment to their studies. In recent weeks, we saw our Year 11s ‘step-up’ into the senior program. While the Kickstart Program is only three weeks, VCE students will have reading and learning tasks to complete over the long break, with a view to ‘hitting the ground running’ when they return.
All students, staff and families should also be mindfully planning to have time away from their screens and readings to charge the energy over our time away. Well done to all on such a successful 2023!
Mr Joshua Di Pietro
Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching
Our Regnet Christus Academic Ceremony is a highlight for our academic year. We celebrated this special day last week in our newly refurbished hall, recognising the wonderful achievements of our students for 2024. Congratulations to all award winners and thank you to families for joining us, along with Member for Goldstein Ms Zoe Daniel MP and Member for Bentleigh Mr Nick Staikos MP, Board Members and our OLSH Sisters. We are grateful for spending such a special morning together.
