This week signals the beginning of the exam period for our Unit 4 students. While we have had some earlier performance and language exams, this week we see the bulk of the cohort take on the English Exam. For our year 12 students, this exam symbolises the culmination of 13 years of learning, study, and organization. We are so very proud of every one of our students in the 2023 cohort and wish every student success over the last few weeks of their school year. While the outcomes of these exams might be daunting for many, it is important to know that this moment does not define you or lock you into a particular pathway. For those completing the VCE and VCAL streams, congratulations on your hard work.
For our year 10s and 11s, the exam timetable has been posted to Ametur and study notes and exam preparation should be well underway. These exams are an important step along the journey towards year 12 and should be seen as part of a process of learning.
Our years 7 to 9 learners are fast approaching the final assessments and are heading towards the final weeks of classes. With the final push for assessment and work, it is important to keep structured with school and home learning. If support is needed in these final weeks, make sure to reach out to your teachers.

Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching

Our Health and PE week was filled with activities to get us moving, including a soccer goal shoot out, stationary cycling to power smoothie making, and ways to keep active around the campus including spin bikes. The week finished with a staff versus students volleyball match, complete with cheersquads and friendly rivalry.

We celebrated Technology Week last week, with a series of lunchtime activities presented by the Technology Department. On Monday, students made vanilla mug cakes, choosing their own variations with choc chips and sprinkles. The Textiles activity was the creation of a macrame feather keyring and to finish the week, students enjoyed a coding session, writing a program to light up micro-bits into shapes such as hearts. Thanks to everyone who joined in these activities.

Our Year 8 Geography students visited Yarra Bend Park for a fieldwork excursion, to support their study of Landforms and Landscapes. It was a great location for students to observe different aspects of the site and put into practice their sketching and data collection skills.
