Ticket for this year's senior play have just gone on sale. This year OLSH and De La Salle students from years 10 to 12 are performing The Crucible - a gripping drama of fear, faith, and the destructive power of lies. Students have been rehearsing this for months and are excited to put it onto the stage for people to see. Special mention to Emily and Philomenah who were the talented artists behind the poster designs for the show. There are two shows only - on 21 and 22 August, so book your tickets now via Trybooking.
This year's junior production in collaboration with St Bede’s has also been rehearsing each week for the past few months. The year 7s and 8s are doing a play called The Day the Internet Died. This show will be performed in St Bede’s VPAC on October 22nd & 23rd. Keep your eye out for tickets!
This year OLSH is taking part in Wakkikirri- a story dance festival and competition. For the last few months, a group of talented dancers from year 7 to 12 have been rehearsing each week after school to create a performance entitled ‘Keys of Light’. This performance aims to tell the story of the power of music and how it can guide people to a brighter place. Led by a wonderful student creative team and Ms McNeil, the group will perform at the Frankston Arts Centre on the 12th August. We wish them all the best with this exciting opportunity!
Last night, our VCE Music students and members of Chante, our senior auditioned choir, took to the stage for the OLSH and De La Salle Vocal Collaboration. The evening featured a mix of solo performances, ensemble pieces, and combined choir pieces. The depth of talent and vocal range was inspiring. It was a joy to witness the musical partnership between our two Colleges and to see the value our students gained from performing and learning together.
It has been a busy time for our choirs, with the junior choir and Chanté choir performing at the Victoria School Music Festival in Box Hill earlier this week. Congratulations to Chanté who were awarded Platinum and to the Junior Choir who received Bronze. The choirs participated in a workshop with a renowned choral educator and were able to see other schools perform. Congratulations to everyone involved.
