We’re officially halfway through Term 2, and what a term it’s been already! There’s been no shortage of creativity, courage, and connection as we continue living out our theme to Take the Dive and Start the Ripple.
One of the biggest highlights so far has been the Performing Arts Spectacular (PAS). Each house delivered unforgettable performances filled with music, movement, and meaning. From original scripts to carefully curated costumes, it was inspiring to see the dedication and teamwork shine. The energy in the room was unmatched and congratulations to Sweeney for their well-deserved win!
This term our athletes stepped up at the CGSAV Athletics competition. It was a day filled with determination, friendly competition, and fierce school spirit. Congratulations to everyone who participated, you gave it your all!
We also had our Year 7 Leadership Launch which is a very exciting time of the year! The Year 7s have been learning about how leadership works at OLSH and many of them delivered speeches to be a candidate for House Captain, Sustainability Captain and Faith and Mission Captain.
In the Performing Arts Department, our VCE Drama Ensembles had an amazing afternoon getting to performing original scripts, sound and lighting, showcasing storytelling and stagecraft with confidence and heart. The VCE Music Performance students from Units 1/2 and 3/4 also delivered captivating recitals, filled with talent, emotion, and hours of dedication behind the scenes.
Term 2 has also reminded us of the importance of compassion. Our Winter Blanket appeal has been a beautiful reflection of what it means to be a Heart Person, with our school community coming together to provide warmth for those doing it tough this winter.
We also cherished moments of connection, including our beautiful Mother’s Day Breakfast, where we honoured the incredible women who guide, support, and inspire us every day. It was a morning filled with laughter, love and gratitude.
And of course, Cultural Diversity Day stood out as a joyful celebration of everything that makes our community so rich. With so much already achieved, we’re beyond excited for what’s still to come in the second half of this term. Keep showing up with heart, with courage, and with the belief that every action, big or small, can start a ripple.
Lots of love,
Your Student Executive Team - Keiva, Gabi, Lucille and Eve
