Over the break, we hope you took time to relax and reset, but also spend time with family and friends over the Easter period; a time of celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We’re super excited to see you all back looking well rested and rejuvenated, ready for another jam packed, ripple-making term!
Sadly, on the final day of school holidays, the world said goodbye to the beloved Pope Francis, a figure widely recognised for his humility, concern for the marginalised and overall humble demeanor.
We have a lot planned for term two in terms of initiatives and raising awareness in ways that align with the School Theme, some of which have been planned and executed seamlessly over the school holidays by those that share a strong passion in Music, performing arts and operating the behind-the-scenes in backstage crew. They have been working non-stop after school and during school holidays on producing Peter Pan, a collaboration with De La Salle College. They run of six shows, all of which were close to sold out, finishes this weekend - such a gratifying response to their hard work!
Sacred Heart day is shortly approaching us at the end of this month, where the much anticipated Performing Arts Spectacular will take place. Each House has been working tirelessly on creating scripts, dances, songs, costumes and sets all from scratch that fall under their theme elected to them at the end of last term. It is a day full of joy, passion and pride for your house and the people you are surrounded by.
Here is a reminder of each theme that was assigned to each House:
On Friday we had our House Athletics Carnival which takes place at Duncan Mackinnon Oval each year. It was a day full for energy and enthusiasm alongside a healthy dose of competitive banter between the houses. Congratulations to Chevalier for taking home the win, and another congratulations to Faith Little for being awarded the fastest girl at OLSH, once again.
Issoudun is a year full of opportunities, independence and growth where you learn more about who you are as a person and grow closer bonds to those around you. During this year the Issoudun students undergo rotations as a part of their curriculum. One of which is a one month retreat to Hartzer Park in Bowral NSW. It seems like a long time, but trust us time really does fly. We wish all Issoudun students the best with their time away, you get from it what you choose to put in, so give your all! And just remember, no matter where you are there are always ways to Take the Dive and Start the Ripple!
That sums up the main events of Term 2! We’re glad to see everyone back looking fresh and well rested after a school holidays full of productivity, time spent with family but most importantly delicious hot cross buns! We cannot wait to see the ways in which this school community chooses to Take the Dive and Start the Ripple!
Lots of Love
Student Executive!
