An action-packed start to the term

Term 1 has been action packed with both the CGSAV, and OLSH House Swimming and Diving Carnivals.

As reigning 2024 Diving Champions in Division 1, we had a lot to live up to! Our Senior Team saw Abbey and Zara compete for the final time, to finish 2nd. Violet, Chloe and Evie were fabulous in Intermediate with Violet winning individually, and Intermediate securing the top spot. Our Junior's finished 5th, and OLSH tied for 1st place overall!

Over 40 students were selected to the Swimming Team, and had a busy afternoon at MSAC! Hovering between 4th and 5th for most of the day, we eventually finished in 5th place on 22 points behind CLC. The most impressive swim of the event goes to Keeley, Caitlin, Violet and Cassy, who broke their 4 x 50m record from 2024.

Our own House Carnival was a huge success, with wonderful participation from all students. The water aerobics, swimming and diving events allowed everyone to have a go in the pool, while land activities including volleyball, and bocce, allowed all students to contribute to their House's success on the ground. The winners of the House Swimming and Diving Carnival were Hartzer, for the second year in a row, also taking out Junior and Senior Division. Well done to Chevalier who were the winning House in Intermediate and Xavier who performed spectacularly in the Chants to win the House Spirit Award.

For those who like the dryer sports, Tennis and Indoor Cricket have been keeping many students active over Term 1. With over 115 participants signing up for Tennis, and over 80 in cricket, selection for teams was very challenging! Our Tennis team travelled to Geelong on 25 February. Scarlett was in great form, winning the singles in Intermediate, and helping the Intermediates win their section. Juniors and Seniors had several great matches with the Seniors making the semi finals.

The final, remaining event, for Term 1 is Indoor Cricket. Our Junior and Intermediate teams, in particular, have been training hard and are ready for Match Day! We wish all cricketers all the best for 2 April.
