This once-in-a-lifetime journey will immerse students in the culture, history, and performing arts of Italy, London, Paris, and Issoudun – the birthplace of the OLSH story.

Parents and students are invited to an Information Evening on Wednesday, October 29th at 5pm in the OLSH Centre.

Tour highlights include:

  • Exploring the Colosseum, Vatican City, and Sistine Chapel in Rome
  • A farm stay in Orvieto with hands-on cooking and Italian language experiences
  • Immersing in London’s theatre scene with a theatre workshop, a dance class, and live shows
  • Discovering landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Shakespeare’s Globe, and St. Paul’s Cathedral
  • Experiencing the magic of Paris, with visits to the Louvre, Notre Dame and a Seine River cruise

Energy and fun at our Junior Production

This year OLSH came together with St Bedes to put on the show The Day The Internet Died. Working with St Bede's College on the production reminded us how much fun collaboration can be. We made new friends, learnt new skills and somehow the learning along the way has brought together a successful show. With a blend of hard work and real fun everyone in the production brought energy to every rehearsal the process felt less like a job and more like a fun journey.

Looking back at all the rehearsals with all the different cast members what stands out most to us is the laughter and the enjoyment, the improvised fixes and the way a simple Wednesday rehearsal could become a moment that carries all the way to opening night.

First-hand analysis of a musical

Our Issoudun Drama class went to see MJ the musical last week. Here are their reflections.

"Last week on Wednesday the entire Issoudun Drama class went to see MJ the musical on an excursion! This semester our class has been learning all about the different types of musicals, songs in musicals, and the importance of their placement throughout the show, to eventually teach us how to not only analyse a musical but also how to create our very own Jukebox musical! Getting the chance to properly see in person what makes a Jukebox show so successful has been a major help with our Jukebox musical project, and it also gave us the opportunity to properly analyse a musical for the first time! The show itself was nothing short of incredible, with high-energy, spectacularly bold numbers and a phenomenal cast that amazed us all. Not to mention, getting to spend the day watching a musical alongside all of our closest friends was an experience that we will never forget!" - Sophia

"Last Wednesday our Issoudun Drama class went on an excursion to see MJ the Musical at Her Majesty’s Theatre. This semester’s drama class covers Musical Theatre, the types of musicals, songs in musicals and placement of songs. Our class watched MJ to later write an analysis task on the musical, breaking down key elements of the show and what makes it a Jukebox Musical. Which is a musical containing already existing songs and our assignment is to create our own. Watching MJ helped us see how existing songs are put into a story and how timeless hits can be transformed into showstopping numbers! We absolutely loved this shows whimsical and energetic atmosphere, purely enjoyable and an unforgettable performance!" - Anthi
