Dear Family and Friends of OLSH College,
Always when we get to this time of the year there is a real sense of connection amongst our OLSH community. The event that marks this deeper connection between each other is the farewell of our Year 12 students. After 13 years of schooling they are now in that period of transition as they complete their courses (VCE VM students) and exams (VCE students). It is truly an enriching experience for our entire College community to see the Year 12 students embrace their future with a mix of trepidation and courage – walking their journey with that sense of faith in their God being with them on the journey.
St Peter To Rot – the first saint for Papua New Guinea was canonised by Pope Leo on 19 October. Peter To Rot was very closely connected to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) the order of priests and brothers that was founded by Fr Jules Chevalier.
On the occasion of the canonisation of St Peter To Rot, I leave you with an excerpt from a letter that the current Superior General of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Fr Abzalon:

Always united in our shared OLSH Spirit.
Anne O'Loughlin
Principal

Our Class of 2025 families joined together for our Valedictory Dinner last Friday evening. It was a special time to thank families and staff for their support of the students over the past six years and to share stories, laughter and love as we looked back on six wonderful years of growth and friendship. Our Principal Anne O’Loughlin spoke of the pioneering spirit of this cohort – much like the pioneering spirit of the first OLSH Sisters – for their willingness to take on challenges, show resilience and truly demonstrate the OLSH heart spirit. Thank you to our College Vice Captain Gabi and Class of 2025 parent Ruth for their reflections, and to all families who made this such a special night.
