Dear Family and Friends of OLSH College,

Always when we get to this time of the year there is a real sense of connection amongst our OLSH community. The event that marks this deeper connection between each other is the farewell of our Year 12 students. After 13 years of schooling they are now in that period of transition as they complete their courses (VCE VM students) and exams (VCE students). It is truly an enriching experience for our entire College community to see the Year 12 students embrace their future with a mix of trepidation and courage – walking their journey with that sense of faith in their God being with them on the journey.

St Peter To Rot – the first saint for Papua New Guinea was canonised by Pope Leo on 19 October. Peter To Rot was very closely connected to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) the order of priests and brothers that was founded by Fr Jules Chevalier.

On the occasion of the canonisation of St Peter To Rot, I leave you with an excerpt from a letter that the current Superior General of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Fr Abzalon:
