Viewing exams as an opportunity

As we move into the final term of the school year, there is plenty happening across Learning and Teaching.

Our Year 12 students are entering their final days with a mix of excitement and reflection as they complete their last classes and prepare for upcoming exams. We are proud of their commitment and resilience throughout the year and wish them every success as they take this important next step. With the English exam to take place on Tuesday next week for all students across the State, this rite of passage marks the major point of exams. We have already had a number of other exams, so we will keep all of our students in our prayers throughout this time.

For Years 9, 10 and 11, the focus now shifts to the end-of-year exams, which will begin in three weeks. These assessments provide a valuable opportunity for students to consolidate their learning, demonstrate growth, and prepare for the challenges of the next year level. I presented to some year levels this week and encouraged them to see exams as the opportunity to show off their amazing learning and to not be worried about them.

As this is the final term for submitting work, we encourage all students to stay organised and on top of deadlines. Organisation is the key and will students as they all build towards the final assessments.

Energy and artistry

On Monday 13 October, our talented dancers from Years 7 to 11 took to the stage for the Semester 2 Dance Showcase, held in our Performing Arts Centre. The afternoon featured a wonderful variety of performances that students had been preparing and refining over several weeks.

Each routine highlighted the dancers’ creativity, dedication, and teamwork, showcasing styles ranging from contemporary to jazz and lyrical. The audience was treated to an inspiring display of energy and artistry, reflecting the hard work and passion of every performer.

A huge congratulations to all students involved — your commitment and enthusiasm made the night a true celebration of dance!
