Launching our leadership initiatives for Term 3

What a jam packed yet amazing term it has been - filled with some fantastic initiatives, fund raisers, community spirit and growth. From PAS and Sacred Heart day, CGSAV sports, reaching out to the St Vinnies food van, the OLSH pillars completion, lunchtime concerts and more! Term 2 has seen us unite as student body and consequently, achieve great things; both individually and communally.

We hope to pursue and further encourage this positive energy and motivation for the upcoming Term 3. Focusing upon nurturing your own personal wellbeing whilst seeking to constantly grow; step outside your comfort zone, trying your best, and ultimately fulfilling the best version of you! Vulnerability is the key to self and group connection.

Last Wednesday, the Student Executive team launched their three new leadership initiatives for the College community being: Grown your own, The school tree and the OLSH Olympics. The events are all designed to help further connect us to our peers through participation, and ultimately, celebrate our amazing growth as the term unfolds. Here’s how they will work:

Grow your own: Each learning mentor will receive a plant which they will nurture and care for throughout the course of next term! This will be through consistent love, attention and team work!

The school tree: Each LM will be posed a question fortnightly inspired by one of the words presented on our college symbol (e.g. growth). It will be the homerooms job to provide a brief summary as to how they collectively resonated with the weeks’ prompt on a heart. The paper heart will then be stuck in our “blank” tree.

OLSH Olympics: To help commemorate the upcoming Olympics, the specialist captains will be facilitating a week-by-week competition for all student and staff to get involved and win house points!

Being the last term in our roles, we are so excited to continue working alongside the amazing leadership team to leave a legacy at the College.

Have a great break!
