A great start to Term 2

The first few weeks of this term have been busy and have provided us with many reasons to celebrate.

Mamma Mia!

OLSH College Bentleigh along with De La Salle College had the amazing privilege of performing the musical Mamma Mia together on stage. We rehearsed twice a week every week for 7 months and finally had the opportunity to bring the blue and white Mamma Mia vision to life in our Performing Arts Centre from the 30th of April to the 4th of May.

The show brought many beautiful and wholesome moments and no doubt, many humorous remarks which I’m sure the audience enjoyed. The cast, crew and band members worked extremely hard over the last few months to put together a production set in the beautiful Greek island, where the main character Sophie, played wonderfully by Niki Georgas, goes on a journey to find who her dad is, in turn finding herself in the process. Along with her mum Donna, played by Poppy McLaughlin, Rosie played by Ella McKinnon and Tanya played by Maddie Di Conza, and her bridesmaids Ali played by Emilia Brusco and Lisa played by Maddie O’Donnell, and her three dads Bill, Sam and Harry, the cast has put on a remarkable show, full of fun, magic and excitement!

PAS rehearsals underway

All four houses have begun the theatrical journey of creating their Performing Arts Spectacular pieces!! The theme for this year is a famous musical mixed with some of our favourite animated characters! Sweeney, Chevalier, Hartzer and Xavier are creating some entertaining, creative and exciting performances with music, dancing and acting. With everyone working so hard as a team we cannot wait to see the finale reveal in a few weeks time!!

CGSAV Athletics

Our CGSAV athletics day is fast approaching, with our OLSH girls training each week after school. After a fun filled, joyous athletics day which we cherished as a whole school community, we now wish the girls competing in the next division all the best of luck for Thursday the 14th of May.

Mother's Day

Earlier this week we celebrated all mothers, grandmothers and special women of the College at our Mother’s Day breakfast. It was a lovely morning to commemorate and express our appreciation for all mothers, aunties and grandmothers within our OLSH community. As a College focuses upon empowering young women, Mother’s Day is a special occasion in which we recognise the hard work, persistence, endless love and support we are blessed to receive from the special women in our lives. As a younger generation, we aspire to walk in the footsteps of our female role models and be inspired by all that they do. Wishing all family, friends and alumni of the OLSH community a wonderful Mothers Day this Sunday!
