Our annual House Swimming Carnival was a feast of colour, loud barracking and great talent in the pool. Well done to our House Leaders for encouraging great participation in all events in the pool and in the poolside activities. The House chants were very impressive this year, making it very hard to choose a winner for the House Spirit Award and in the end it was a tie between Hartzer and Sweeney. Congratulations to Hartzer for winning the overall and junior trophies, Xavier for winning intermediate trophy and Sweeney for winning the senior trophy.
We also recognised our talented diving team who won the CGSAV 1st Division Diving Competition earlier this week. Congratulations to our top three divers – Abby, Zara and Violet – and our fastest three swimmers – Michaela, Caitlin and Cassandra. Well done to Year 7 student Michaela who won the 50 metre invitational race in a very tight finish. Thanks to our wonderful staff for all the work that goes into the carnival and to the ducks who kept our swimmers company.
Our OLSH Diving Development Team have had a great season, with all divers learning new skills and improving during their training sessions. A team of nine students put their training to the test when they competed in Division 1 of the CGSAV Diving at MSAC this week. We are very proud to report that OLSH College were winners overall.
Thank you to Jenny Donnet, Jen, and Georgie at Mentone Girls Grammar Aquatic Centre and Ms Webster for sharing their expertise.

Here's what two of our divers had to say:
'This diving season was fantastic! The OLSH girls have been training for five weeks in preparation for the CGSAV diving competition at MSAC. Our coach, 4-time Olympian Jenny Donnet worked closely with every diver helping them progress and improve throughout training. The girls had so much fun on the competition day and smashed it out of the park leading OLSH to win!! Also a well done to the rest of the girls who came along on the day as emergencies and supported, the OLSH spirit was strong.' - Abby and Zara
