Introducing our 2024 theme

The Student Executive Team would like to introduce this year's theme for the College, Let it Grow! Last week, during our Wednesday Pastoral Care Assembly, we had the wonderful opportunity of launching our College song, dance and slogan to the entire study body!

So...What is Let it Grow all about?
As an OLSH community we are built upon a strong foundation of heritage, spirituality, legacy and tradition. Our house patrons, OLSH sisters, past educators and alumni are all part of our rich College history; inspirations who spread their passion for education and shaped OLSH into the heart filled place that it is today. These are our roots; what grounds and reminds us of who we are.

Our College radiates incredible warmth and support that provides the resources and opportunities to allow students to grow, just like the trunk of a tree. Our roots and trunk form the basis of who we are as OLSH girls, providing our lives with a sense of meaning, understanding and belonging.

Therefore our vision for 2024 (and for the years to come) is focused upon growing from our roots, utilizing OLSH’s values and beliefs to help empower girls to be independent thinkers, to be curious and reach for the stars!

With this, our goal is to remind our student body of the importance of self growth and growing with others. That as a community, we are all connected by our roots, yet our environment is what equips us to branch out and seek our purpose and passions in life!

Our slogan - Nurture the seed, grow and succeed!
Our College slogan for 2024, Nurture the seed, grow and succeed!, is a fun, purposeful and catchy quotation that we feel encapsulates both our theme and vision for our school community.

Nurture the seed: just like a seed needs adequate water, nutrients and care to sprout, so do we as people. With a nurturing school environment abundant in love and all the resources we need, we can thrive!

Grow and succeed!: before a seed can flourish into a beautiful creation, it must develop strong enough roots to be able to grow upwards. Therefore, this component of the slogan accentuates the path of development; that before we can achieve great things, we must learn from our mistakes, embrace the journey and pursue our own path.

With a grounded foundation, whilst appreciating the beauty of growth (and change) can we then be the best versions of ourselves!

We are so excited for our theme to come to life this year and spread the powerful message it holds!
