Handing over to the next generation of leaders

On Thursday the 17th of October we had our official handover of leadership ceremony, a moment that marked the passing of the torch to the next generation of leaders. As we signed off, there was a bittersweet sense of finality, but also an overwhelming excitement for what lies ahead. We are so proud of the new leaders stepping up and have complete confidence that they will bring fresh ideas and energy to continue shaping our school community in incredible ways. Watching them take on these roles reminded us of the power of growth and the bright future that awaits.

On October 18th, the Year 12s came to school in dress-ups, kicking off Celebration Day with a wonderful breakfast hosted by the College. Afterward, we gathered in the hall to open the time capsules we had made in Year 7. Opening letters from our younger selves, friends, and family, along with little keepsakes, was truly special. It was an emotional experience as we reconnected with our 13-year-old selves, reminiscing on how far we've come. Later, we held a final concert where Kristina, Lara, Amelie, Poppy, Evelyn, and Caitlyn gave their last performances of secondary school.

The evening concluded with our graduation mass, a beautiful way to reflect on and give thanks for the journey we've shared. Finally, we headed to Leonda by the Yarra for our Valedictory Dinner, where we celebrated with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and memories that we’ll carry with us always.

And to completely finish, Monday the 21st of October, we said our last goodbye to the school. With a beautiful speech from our 2024 College Captain Mia Karvounaris, and one final, beautiful performance from Isabel and Jasmine, we shed a few tears as the reality of leaving set in, but it was a very special moment, filled with gratitude and love for the journey we've shared and the bonds we've formed.

We are incredibly excited to see all the accomplishments and milestones the new Senior Executive will achieve—Keiva Kell, Gabi Trajer, Eve Morphett, and Lucille Moses. Their leadership and dedication are sure to make a lasting impact, and we have no doubt they will excel in guiding the school forward. We wish them the very best of luck as they embark on this exciting journey!

Officially signing off – Mia, Emilia, Chanelle and Alex. We will miss you OLSH!
