It has been wonderful to welcome back our students for the 2024 academic year, with a renewed focus on impactful learning experiences. Our students have embraced the return to school and to classes with a focus on their 2024 program.
As we continue to engage in our learning experiences, it is important for students to settle into positive habits and routines. With our day starting with Learning Mentor, this is a time to settle and focus into the day by engaging with peers. The routine of attending all classes and engaging in the rhythm of learning is an important factor in progressing student learning.
Students who can attend classes, engage with the content and gain regular feedback will have more opportunities for success. For our senior students, we speak about having the end in sight as you plan the beginning. Plan for success with your exams at the end of the year by setting up your learning processes at the start of the year. Study is important at all year levels as it allows our neuropathways to help to remember key concepts, knowledge and skills.

Maths Hub is back on for 2024. If you are new to OLSH College or haven't tried Maths Hub before, this is an opportunity for you to receive extra help with your maths work. It runs twice each week, on Monday after school and Thursday at lunchtime.
There is a Maths teacher present at each session to help with any questions you may have, or it can just be a quiet place to complete your work.
It is held in M.G.29 in the Hub, just next to the library. We hope to see you there!
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs McCleary or Ms Rynderman.
