Trials, training and triumph

Excitement has been building for the Women's World Cup with each Learning Mentor groups being allocated a country to represent and follow. Who will be victorious?! We are hoping for a good turn out of motivated soccer players at next week's trials for the OLSH College  teams.

The start of Term Three has seen trials and training sessions for AFL, Volleyball, Netball and Aerobics. It's great to see so many students getting themselves involved, active and having fun!

Netball and Volleyball teams are being finalised this week to play at several competitions in August and September. Aerobics teams are polishing their routines so they are ready for their August 11th competition.

Our OLSH AFL teams participated in the CGSAV competition at Royal Park last week. The teams braved the chilly conditions and played some very competitive footy against four other schools. All teams won their ways into the Grand Finals and players improved their skills and team strategies with the help of the coaches at Bentleigh Junior Football Club.

Well done to the Seniors who won their grand final and to the Inters and Juniors who were both runners up in their grand finals, and special mention to Lucia who was named Best on Ground in the Senior’s Grand Final. Congratulations to all players and a big thank you to Ms Webster, Ms Scalzo, Ms Smith, Ms Snell and Ms Grech who coached on the day. Thanks to the students who acted as goal umpires so that the competition ran smoothly.
