Take time to reset for Term 3

As we approach the Term 2 holiday break, it has been wonderful to see students attending to their learning programs with full vigour. Even though Term 2 was a shorter term, we saw many impactful moments for all of our students. Our Year 7 and 8 students worked tirelessy at their transition into full classes, and our Year 9s started their alternative Issoudun Programs. With half of our Year 9s in Hartzer, our Nous Sommes students have engaged really well with the Bentleigh based program. Year 10 and 11 students completed their exams and are already making headway into Semester 2 programs. Year 12s have all completed their Unit 3 courses and have an eye on the Term 3 push towards exams.

For all of our students and families, this break provides the opportunity to rejuvenate before returning for the second half of 2023. Over this break, our senior students should schedule time for reviewing the Semester 1 work, with a view to setting relevant learning goals. At the beginning of Term 3, our students will begin their subject selection with the support of Ms Carmel Girolami, Careers and Pathways Coordinator. As each year level begins the process, communication will be sent through to students and parents.

Our Year 8 Debating team were victorious in their D-Grade competition last week. Their debate topic was "That we regret the use of participation awards" and they had to argue against the statement. The judges were impressed with the quality of arguments presented by all members of both teams, so well done Isabelle, Ava and Matilda!
