It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

As we approach the end of the 2024 school year, it's the perfect time to reflect on all that we've achieved and become. We wrapped up our final days with our Learning Mentors group, revisiting the year’s accomplishments. Our Year 12s for 2025 participated in discussions on how they can bring their unique leadership to each Learning Mentor group and make a positive impact on the incoming Year 7s. With the Class of 2025, we are in excellent hands, full of innovative ideas and contagious joy.

The week concluded with a visit from Santa and his OLSH elves. While visits like these are often reserved for the very young, there was a palpable sense of joy, excitement, and childhood wonder as Santa arrived with sirens wailing and lights flashing. It was a moment that reminded us to slow down and appreciate the simple joys life offers. In a world where young people often grow up too fast, Santa’s visit brought a refreshing sense of innocence, joy, and fun. These spontaneous moments of happiness help create a positive, connected community. How lucky are we to have such a community at OLSH!!

Congratulations

Congratulations to the many students who have been awarded leadership positions for 2025. As we continue to embrace our responsibility as stewards of creation, we were excited to announce an expanded leadership team for 2025, including the new position of Sustainability Assistant. To all students elected to the student leadership team, thank you for having the courage to step up. We look forward to your ideas, enthusiasm, and energy in 2025.

To those who were not elected, we also extend our gratitude. Thank you for taking the risk, putting yourself forward, and giving it your best effort. While disappointment is natural, always remember: never, ever, ever give up!
