With our Year 12 students all but finished their final exams, it is now the turn of our Year 9 to 11 students to take on theirs. Over the last week, our Issoudun students completed their English and Mathematics exams, and each of them did an exceptional job.
Often, the biggest challenge in any exam is the one we face within ourselves. The ability to stay calm, think clearly, and recall information under pressure is an important skill to develop—and it was wonderful to see our Issoudun students demonstrating this with such focus and determination.
Improving focus and attention during exams comes down to a few key habits: getting a good night’s sleep, eating a balanced breakfast, and arriving prepared with all necessary materials. Taking a few deep breaths before starting can help calm the mind, while pacing yourself through each section and keeping an eye on the time ensures you stay on track. Most importantly, trust the work you’ve done—confidence can make all the difference.
This week we have an eye on the ‘Kickstart’ timetable which begins on Thursday. For our juniors, Kickstart is an opportunity to have a taster of the next year’s curriculum/ For our senior students, the Kickstart signals the beginning of their formal VCE content and skills. For them, it is an opportunity to begin afresh with a renewed focus on learning.
Good luck to all as the Kickstart begins.

Our Year 11 VCE Vocational Module students worked on a project to support local charity, The Soup Angel, making a difference to those who are facing challenges. The students put an appeal out for soup ingredients and containers and then spent the morning at the Convent making soup with Nicole Lewis-Jacobs who is the founder of this wonderful organisation. The students finished the project by delivering the soup to those in need. Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative.

Fresh Take digital exhibition
Our VCE VM students entered the Fresh Take digital exhibition, designing anti-vaping communications. There submissions were in the form of digital posters which are now in the digital exhibition.
The students used illustration and language to convey their message on this important topic.
You can view the submissions here and cast your vote for the best one. We'd love you to view the OLSH submissions and vote for them.
